鈥 淭 he hands that serve are holier than lips that pray 鈥? Introduction: -
The possibility of meeting someone is the starting point for dealing
with them and communication skills play an important role in this
capacity for the most strained and broken relationships can be traced to
the breakdown of mutual communication between individuals in a family
group. , Community, countries and even among the community of nations.
It is our duty and responsibility to the welfare of society and the
nation. When discussing 鈥 鈥 渞 esponsibility?. Service comes to mind.
What is the duty and responsibility? The first word of the Bhagavad Gita
is HARMA 鈥 鈥 凄? The last word of the Gita is 鈥 鈥 淢 AMA? Hence the
essence of the Gita is 鈥 鈥 淢 loves Dharma? My duty. Where the duty and
responsibility becomes desire and desire becomes pleasure.
Media: - The media, the vehicles of mass communication are many. The
prominent that have become household names such as newspapers,
magazines, books, radio, Film and Television, and more recently,
satellite and cable television media can be divided into 鈥? Means
1.PRINT media 2.Electronic
While print media is the oldest, who has a history of 500 years, the
electronic media are the products of the technological revolution of the
20th century. All media are expensive and need large organizations to
collect, process, process and disseminate information, opinions,
entertainment and advertising to huge audiences, dispersed,
heterogeneous, simultaneously. The media have occupied an important
place in our lives. Individually or collectively serve the needs of
different audiences that have specific preferences. Some people want
entertainment, movies, plays, series, dance, music and etc.Others may
have greater interest in news and views. However, others look for
guidance to solve their socioeconomic problems. Each medium is powerful
in its own right in the service of people and everyone has gone through
several stages of development due to competition pressure and
communication technology latest. Print Media: - Print media is a
powerful means of disseminating news, reviews and knowledge, deal only
with the audiences who can read and write are about 30,000 newspapers
and other printed matter produced and consumed in major metropolitan
cities and large in the country. but only a small fraction reaches the
rural masses. Television: - The network has increased dramatically in
the last decade, covering 78% of the population. However, the TVs they
receive are mostly available in urban households and television is out
of reach for most of the rural masses. Only rich people have an access
to it. More recently, satellite and cable television has invaded the
homes of urban Indians. He has broken the boundaries of nation-state and
the heavens opened for television. Radio: - The radio is an important
means of mass communication. Government-owned All India Radio (AIR) now
has the largest network of broadcasting in the world. It is estimated
that over 80% of radios are held by people living in urban areas, which
constitute only about 20% of the country `s population.Inspite
imbalance, radio is the only way they say that is a real means of
communication in India because it is a low cost of mobile media
communication. The portable radio in fact, is the poor man `s partner and
therefore has spread widely. Film: - The film has an important medium
of popular entertainment About 800 films are produced in India every
year many of them are in Hindi and are very popular among the masses ...
Many films are also produced regionally, especially in the south, and
its scope is broad. This may be because the best regional films may have
the social and cultural ethos of the people in a region defined in the
local language.
In light of the limited scope of the media and people restricted access
to traditional media such as popular songs, folk dances, folk theater
etc. are the real channels of information and entertainment in rural
India. Its scope is broad, as they are less expensive, more accessible,
closer to the hearts of people, participation in nature, and therefore
more effective communication than print or electronic media. Media and
Society: - The media today are inextricably of modern Society.Without
these means, the company probably can not conduct their affairs
effectively for its part, the media, in a attempt to serve the people,
pay an important role in the new expansion. ideas, new forms of behavior
and information on a variety of products. The media plays many roles in
society. Which, in most of these are important information, education,
motivation, persuasion, entertainment, cultural promotion and
integration.Harold defines these functions such as environmental
monitoring, the correlation of the components of society to respond to
the environment and transmission assets. The media not only inform
members of society about the threats and dangers and opportunities, but
also provide forums where debates and discussions on relevant topics can
provide the leadership for change in society. Another function of the
media in modern society is to provide entertainment. They are a source
of personal and collective recreation and enjoyment. Newspapers, radio,
television and other means to assist in the promotion of cultural
heritage and play an important role in the integration of people,
community and society of the media living.Mass harmonious use subtle
means of persuasion techniques to shape opinion and bring about change.
The question of the effect of media in society has been addressed in
several studies and writings, but none of them provides a clear view of
the effects of media. The information function of the media has become
an important dimension today. Society can not suvive today without being
informed of local and international events on political, economic,
social and cultural or even on time conditions.People variety of
information about virtually all aspects of your life to make weekend
plans future. But for the nature of the media are compelling, may result
in the media that transcend the ethical codes within which is expected
to operate and can become biased, manipulative and proopagandist. The
power of media to control or manipulate triggered reflection on the
possibility that their sinister effects vis-à-vis society. Media and
Social Responsibility: - The ocial Responsibility 鈥 鈥 沦 theory owes its
origin to the committee on press freedom (Hutchins 1947) who was
appointed in the United States?. The theory of social responsibility is
based on the assumption that the media perform essential functions in
society So. You must accept and fulfill certain obligations to society.
These obligations must be met by setting high professional standards in
reporting information. Truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity and balance.
In the public interest, the media underestimate the news that stress
could lead to crime, violence and crime due to social or ethnic or
religious minorities. The media should be pluralistic, must reflect the
diversity of its society and allow access to diverse viewpoints,
including the right of reply. Some media types have begun leading news
interactive many columns that provide readers with a platform to express
their views and opinions on issues of college life-giving, the problems
related to abuse of society, youth, environment , powersupply,
education and druge, etc.. Almost all newspapers, big or small, have
also begun advisor columns, where readers find answers to questions that
usually do not even ask their parents and friends of the issues
relating to relationships and health. Some others have gone so far as
direct interaction with its readers by holding meetings with residents
of the individual colonies in various cities to hear their problems.
After all, it is the duty of the media to take up the cause `s people.
